Aruka Performance is the physical activity aspect of the overall Aruka Health Management Model.  It is based on the exercise models outlined in the book Aruka – Rebuild and Restore Your Health.

What is different about Aruka's Performance?

In the field of exercise and nutrition, it is acknowledged that “there are many roads that lead to Rome.”  Translated – people have achieved their fitness goals using different methods. There is little new under the sun regarding philosophies on physical fitness.  Aruka involves strategies that are different and directed toward health being the end goal of physical fitness, not performance.  High levels of performance can only be achieved if an individual maintains their health and vitality.  Durability is required for ability to shine.

  • Movement IQ is the ability to demonstrate body control and efficiency of motion while performing movement, fitness, or sports skills through various planes of motion with changes in tempo and direction.

  • We believe that there are 9 types of exercise and that, when possible, we should practice all 9. Exercise is best administered in various ways to affect different systems of the body in different ways. Exercise at its foundation is training our nervous system to respond and react to stresses and variables that we expose it to through a particular type of exercise. Training your body’s software system in this way improves function and overall athleticism and fitness potential.

  • We all have different starting points regarding our fitness journey. Variables include age, disease, injury, training experiences, and medications just to name a few. Aruka Performance encourages you to adopt either a leisure, recreational, or competitive level of intensity in your training program. Exercise should be undertaken by all, but the intensity of exercise should be determined by personal desire, fitness levels, and recreational/sport competition considerations. Beginning the fitness journey should always start by seeing your doctor and asking questions regarding your current state.

  • Aruka Performance begins with the restoration of good movement, which is based on proper movement skill development and the elimination of compensatory movement patterns that an individual has developed due to injury, age, or unlearned skills components.
